Clerkship

The division of neurosurgery, at McMaster University, welcomes medical students to apply to the electives program at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. Participation in the program will afford McMaster students and visiting students from accredited schools an opportunity to experience a wide range of self-directed activities before graduation. Students also have the opportunity to observe and experience the activities of a day-to-day clinical practice and interact with a practitioner to learn about the rewards and challenges of that practice, clinically, administratively and personally.

Attention McMaster University students! If you would like to do an undergraduate elective with us, please email Kelly Hancock, our program coordinator, from your medportal account indicating the preferred dates and the surgeon that you would like to work with.

The Michael G. Degroote School of Medicine allows a limited number of students enrolled in accredited medical schools from around the world to undertake electives at McMaster. Learn more about electives on the Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) website.

Please note: All visiting elective medical students must apply online. Review the PGME International Electives Onboarding Checklist to learn more.
