Order of Ontario, Dr. Mohit Bhandari

Dr. Mohit Bhandari was one of 25 Ontario citizens appointed to the Order of Ontario by our Lieutenant-Governor The Honorable David C. Onley. Dr. Bhandari received this recognition for his work in the education of medical practitioners in their care of victims of Intimate Partner Violence.


Distinguished Alumni Award in Science, Dr. Mohit Bhandari

The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes McMaster University graduates who have attained a high level of distinction and achievement through scholarship, research, teaching, creative contributions to the sciences and/or service to society. This award is intended to honour alumni whose accomplishments and contributions are of national and/or international significance and/or have had a seminal or transformative impact on their field of endeavour.


James F. Murray Award for Excellence in Surgery of the Hand, Dr. Achilleas Thoma

Dr. Achilleas Thoma (plastic surgery) was awarded the James F. Murray Award for Excellence in Surgery of the Hand at the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgery Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Montreal for his paper: Health-Related Quality of Life in Patients Undergoing Surgery for Dupuytren’s Contracture, A. Thoma, C. Levis, E. Duku, T. Ignacy, M. Kaur.


Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences Inductee, Dr. Mohit Bhandari

Dr. Mohit Bhandari (orthopaedics) was inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences at the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) Annual General Meeting in Ottawa in September 2014. Fellowship in the Academy is based on leadership, creativity, distinctive competencies and commitment to advance academic health sciences and is considered one of the highest honours in Canadian Health Sciences.
